So often have I heard the sales pitch. Join my team and if you build a down line 3 wide and 5 deep you will never have to work again.
It sounds simple enough and to a certain degree it is until you start to either try to do it and realise that you haven’t got the skills or experience to build a downline and that most people will only stay for 90 days and then move on because they aren’t seeing any growth and they don’t know what to do either.
I have been on teams that have grown rapidly and excitement and enthusiasm create huge momentum and some nice checks too but when the hype fades then the lack of team building knowledge starts to seep through and the next thing members are starting to criticize the leaders and then sales drop off and the new members stop coming on board and so on and so on.
I decided a couple of years ago that I was going to treat my Network Marketing/MLM opportunity as a business.
I needed a plan.
The 1st part was to plan to be doing this in twelve months time.
The second part was to commit to doing a little everyday.
The third part was to say no to any ‘new, best opportunity’.
The fourth part was to find a system that would provide education for myself and my team.
I wanted something that we all could use and a system that was proven to grow an MLM and Network Marketing business.
The fifth part was to start building 1 line at a time.
This is where it gets tricky.
Most MLM/Network Marketing companies don’t encourage you to build a deep organisation. The way the pay plan works means they would have to pay out too much commission.
My primary business encourages me to build depth. The way this works is I can place people directly under people and still get the same or close to the same or in some cases even more than if the person was direct to me.
So I focused 1st on building 1 strong line.
Then and only then did I start to build my second line.
It is then a simple method of rinse and repeat. One line at a time.
If you are placing members under members then most of your members will be getting a check each month.
I have proven time and time again that even the most unskilled member of my team takes a second look at what we are doing when they get their 1st check from the business.
You won’t get rich overnight but stick with the sytem and then riches are there for the taking.
